Stephen Marc completed his BA in Photography at Pomona College in California and his MFA at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Philadelphia. Marc's work, an eclectic combination of pattern and narrative, addresses African-American cultural identity. Not unlike drams, his recent digital montages mesh sign with image in a chromatically and spatially rich environment. The recipient of numerous grants, including an Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship, Art Midwest Fellowship and multiple Illinois Arts Council Fellowships, Marc has exhibited in over twenty solo exhibitions.
