Jed Fielding's tightly framed photographs contain an energy that emanates from the center, but still seduces as the edges. A student of Aaron Siskind and briefly of Harry Callahan, Fielding mastered the subtitles of focal point and rim. As a seasoned street photographer, he has traveled and photographed extensively in the Unites States, Mexico, Greece, Egypt, Spain and Italy. For the past twenty years, Naple's byways have been the setting for his perpetual street opera. Fielding is enchanted with the quality of light that filters down into the narrow alleyways of this ancient city, and the activities that take place in avenues rich with discovery. Born in Boston in 1953, Jed Fielding received his degrees in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence (BFA, 1975) and the School of The Art Institute of Chicago (MFA, 1980).
